Data Meeting Guardian accesses

• Calendar account display information, such as account name and email address.
• Calendar list information, such as calendar names, colors, and identifiers.
• Calendar event information, such as event title, start time, end time, calendar name, organizer, and meeting links.
• Authentication tokens issued by Microsoft or Google after sign-in through the official provider flow.
• Local app preferences, such as selected calendars, alert timing, snooze duration, alert display mode, and alert color.

Meeting Guardian never asks for, receives, or stores the user's Microsoft or Google password.

How data is used

Calendar and account data is used to show connected accounts, let the user choose monitored calendars, detect upcoming meetings, show menu bar previews and fullscreen alerts, open supported meeting links, and keep accounts connected between launches.

Meeting Guardian requests read-only calendar access. It does not create, edit, delete, or send calendar events.

Google user data

If a user connects Google Calendar, Meeting Guardian uses Google user data only to provide user-facing calendar monitoring, calendar selection, event previews, meeting alerts, and meeting link opening. Google user data is not transferred to advertising services, data brokers, or unrelated third parties, and is not used for ad targeting or profiling.

Meeting Guardian's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Storage, security, and data protection

Requests to Google and Microsoft APIs are sent over HTTPS/TLS. Google and Microsoft authentication tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain with device-bound access controls. Meeting Guardian never stores these tokens in plain-text preference files.

Account display information, calendar selections, app preferences, calendar-list metadata, and a limited cache of upcoming events are stored locally inside the app's macOS sandbox. Access is protected by the user's macOS account and operating-system sandbox controls.

Requests are sent to Microsoft or Google only when the user connects those providers and the app needs to read calendar data for app functionality. Calendar data is not sent to a Meeting Guardian server or stored on company-operated servers. Meeting Guardian does not sell personal data and does not track users across apps or websites.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but Meeting Guardian limits access to the data needed for its user-facing calendar and alert features.

Data retention and deletion

Google user data is retained locally only while it is needed to keep a connected account working and provide calendar monitoring and alerts. Authentication tokens remain in the macOS Keychain until the user disconnects the account, removes the related Keychain item, revokes access in their Google Account, or the token becomes invalid.

The local upcoming-event cache is refreshed and replaced as the app synchronizes selected calendars. Events that have ended are excluded from the active cache during subsequent refreshes. Account display information, calendar-list metadata, and selections associated with a Google account are removed from Meeting Guardian when that account is disconnected. General app preferences remain until the user changes them or removes the app's local data.

Meeting Guardian does not keep server-side copies of Google user data, so there is no separate company-operated calendar database to retain after disconnection. Detailed removal and provider-revocation steps are available on the Data deletion page.

User control

Users can disconnect calendar accounts, disable individual calendars from monitoring, remove macOS Calendar permission in System Settings, remove stored tokens, or remove the app and its local data from their Mac.

Children's privacy

Meeting Guardian is intended for general productivity use and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Meeting Guardian adds providers, distribution channels, or features. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
